Kinabalu National Park – World Heritage Site

Mt Kinabalu in the background makes an impressive backdrop (mount kinabalu)

The ecosystems of Mt Kinabalu are very special with climatic zones ranging from tropical lowland forests to polar type summit zones.

This great mountain has become an icon of natural history and successful conservation whilst maintaining its position as the most accessible of high mountains to climb and explore.

Downbelow’s Kinabalu Park Day Trip Package to Mt Kinabalu offers great flexibility and the opportunity to enjoy relaxed walks along the river and through mountain trails whilst enjoying the beautiful and rare flowers of the Botanical garden.

Or experience the rainforest from a different perspective at 45m above the canopy floor, soaks in sulfur springs witnessing the world largest bloom, the Raflessia flower are all possible on this one day trip from Kota Kinabalu.

The more adventurous you can even climb HALF WAY to the summit by following an 8km return climb, which follows the same route that climbers of Mt Kinabalu’s summit would take. But instead of continuing to Laban Rata, you will stop at Layang Layang, 2,700m above sea level, and return to the comfort of your car and driver

It’s a very physical climb and can get comparitively cold at 2,700m, but well worth the views.
