The Downbelow team started another project in saving the ocean and this time, it is focusing on the coral reefs.

We took an old and unused water tank as the reef block where we replant broken corals. The damaged corals were collected during our numerous net removals activity that we’ve conducted previously.

Corals can be damaged either by fishing nets, divers or boat anchors. However if they are collected quickly enough they will have a good chance of survival.

This project also educates our PADI Divemaster trainees about corals, their importance to nature, how to protect them and also how to breathe new life into damaged corals!
