Downbelow’s newly certified Junior Open Water divers from Australia International School Singapore, volunteered their help to clean up a nearby deserted beach on Gaya Island as part of their five day program.

The Young but incredibly strong and eager task force made short work of the litter they found, finding all kinds of rubbish.

Richard took the opportunity to give a small presentation on some of the problems our oceans face and the menace of ever growing discarded plastic items found regularly washed up on our shores.

This was especially important to highlight to a new generation of divers in the hope they will continue our conservation work as they enjoy the seas in the future.

The program was hosted by the Downbelow PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre with gifts donated by the Project AWARE Foundation.
