It’s truly a lovely sunny day at our premier PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre facility on Gaya Island and one of our international clients is experiencing our 1-day PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) program with the help of one of our dedicated PADI Instructors!
Mel will assist his student diver in the shallow waters of our training lagoon, which is right on the doorstep of our beach house, to master a few basic dive skills before the first open water dive.
Our experienced Instructors will conduct this first dive in our ‘House’ reef, which extends a bit further from the sheltered bay where all first-time dive training takes place. On the PADI Open Water Diver course, our student divers become very familiar with the area because all confined water dive training is completed here.
During the first dive of the DSD program, Mel will supervise his student closely to quickly respond to any situation, and to check on air consumption during the dive. They will not be going any deeper than 6 metres, but if both Instructor and student felt confident to dive deeper, the optional open water dive on the boat after lunch at the Dive Centre will be a maximum of 12 metres!
