snorkerling fun with Downbelow divemasters

Our guests are participating in the PADI Discover Snorkelling to visit the world famous family of Nemo!

Our two local interns, Timmy and Gary, are using the experience of their PADI Divemaster training to conduct, supervise and lead a group of marine enthusiasts visiting our beach house at Gaya Island.

Timmy and Gary work and learn in a Downbelow-created program, ‘Work for a Career’ in which they qualify as a PADI Divemaster in a one-year contract.

As PADI Divemasters, Gary and Timmy, manage their clients’ needs and their safety during their day of PADI Discover Snorkelling. Not only are they to keep to their PADI standards, but a wide knowledge of marine biology is expected of a PADI professional at Downbelow.

Many divers learn to dive for the amazing sightings of marine animals and in the tropical waters of Tunku Abdul Rahman Park the fish are abundant, typically families of anenomefish or ‘Nemo’, snappers, trevally. Blacktip reef sharks are also possible to spot with one of our experienced guides, such as Timmy or Gary. Their understanding of fish behaviour is very useful for our two Divemaster Trainees to increase their confidence when interacting with customers and their high level of training and experience will be demonstrated in their teaching skills.
Well done to you both! We are all proud of your great working attitudes!

We are sure to continue their education as the training within all our Go PRO internship programs are conducted by the Instructor Trainers of our Go PRO Instructor Development Team. Our preparation for a career in the scuba diving industry is thorough and based on real life experience and not a simulated one: so join one of our Go Pro internships to start your exciting journey of dive instruction!
