Welcome new intern Madja

We have a new Go PRO intern at our PADI 5 Star IDC dive centre on Gaya Island! Madja is on an internship program to become certified as PADI Rescue Diver with basic first aid qualification Emergency First Response and PADI Divemaster!

Resident Platinum PADI Course Director Richard Swann discusses with Madja the role and responsibilities of a Go PRO intern. Internship programs at Downbelow are designed with the intentions of fostering an independent and diligent attitude toward work ethic because with this method interns will truly experience the real diving lifestyle.

A combination of the high quality scuba diving instruction provided by our team of PADI Instructors and observing and participating in the operations of a premium PADI 5 Star IDC dive centre will allow Madja the tools to be a confident PADI professional.

Madja’s program includes PADI Rescue Diver, Emergency First Response and PADI Divemaster, which all link together. With each course conducted, Madja will be guided by her PADI Instructors to understand the academic knowledge, as well as complete the performance requirement of practical skills.

PADI Rescue Diver and Emergency First Response will run concurrently to understand the basics of scuba diving emergency situations. The PADI Divemaster is the first professional rating in the PADI system of education, so there will be a strong emphasis on supervisory and leadership skills.

Madja will also have a mentor, one of the Go PRO Instructor Development Course (IDC) team members. With the wealth of experience that the Go PRO team possess, they are passionate in supporting Madja’s career development during her Go PRO internship program.
