The PADI Rescue Diver course is when a diver starts learning how to take care of others underwater rather than only himself. Our professional interns Julien and Aloys must complete the PADI Rescue Diver course as a pre-requistite qualification for the PADI Divemaster course.
Thibaut, one of our successful candidates during the November Instructor Development Course teaches his younger brother Aloys the PADI Rescue Diver Course under the watchful eye of Downbelows PADI Instructor Vic who is teaching Go PRO intern Julien. Thibaut’s very recent experience of instructor development training gives him greater insight into the link between a recreational diver course, PADI Rescue Diver, and the professional level of PADI Divemaster.
Throughout the PADI Rescue Diver Course, practical skills are assessed and a student is given a scenario to use their own good judgement to solve a problem either on the surface or underwater. Measures will be taken by Thibaut that the course will be conducted safely; Vic as well as our full time team of PADI Instructors guide and advise him with aspects of logistics and tips for creative scenarios for a fun experience for the PADI Instructor too.
The PADI Rescue Diver course is a program many PADI professionals enjoy teaching. The spontaneity of acting certain roles for role-play, when learning or teaching the course, can be very humorous and creates a lively atmosphere with the group. Both Instructors won’t forget to mention however, that the PADI Rescue Diver course begins to develop the techniques of control and supervision which will be assessed during the interns’ Go PRO PADI Divemaster program.
It’s important for Julien and Aloys to have a great time during their Go PRO internship with us at Downbelow!
We commit to providing them with an exciting life experience in Borneo, as well as the highest standard of PADI training at our Gaya Island PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre.
