One of our local Go PRO interns, ‘Big Mac’, conducts our 1-day snorkel safari program for one of our clients and delivers a briefing for the first session in the morning with an emphasis on conservation!
‘Big Mac’ has completed his PADI Divemaster course under our ‘Work for a Career’ program for the opportunity to work in the dive industry. He has learnt a great deal from the experience of our Go PRO team and his PADI professional colleagues, all of who are our full time island staff members. Conservation is a passionate mission of our Dive Centre operations and is a daily effort of everyone’s involvement.
The years’ experience ‘Big Mac’ has acquired working with us has raised his awareness on the benefits of conservation. His experience also makes it effortlessly natural for him to brief his client on the environmental contribution they will volunteer during their day. Our snorkel safari program is very popular at our premier PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre, so we decided to incorporate the collecting of marine debris as part of the snorkeling activity. ‘Big Mac’ will encourage his client to collect any marine debris they may come across in the sea, which he will keep in mesh bags gifted by Project AWARE for our commitment!
