No matter how many illegal fishing nets our island team have found and removed, we are always shocked and disappointed each time.
Again we found another destructive fishing net within the parameters of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park and sadly this time a sea turtle was entangled in the net, couldn’t manage to free itself and eventually died.
Our island team of PADI professionals removed the remains of the net from the reef efficiently to avoid any more casualties of marine life.
Our duty as dive professionals is to protect and preserve our underwater world and we report any illegal activity within the marine park to the environmental authorities to persuade change. We encourage all marine enthusiasts’ to do likewise in support of our environmental movement!
