Labuk Bay Wildlife Adventure Program
This package includes:

Please take note of the following Sabah Parks Regulations:
- only flashless photography is allowed near the turtles;
- video recording devices are not permitted;
- visitors are not allowed to move around the island on their own from 18:00 – 06:00;
You may want to bring: Insect repellent, raincoat, hat, binoculars, torchlight and sunscreen, good walking shoes, comfortable cotton T-shirts, long sleeve shirt and long or short trousers, camera.
Labuk Bay Wildlife Adventure Program Itinerary
This Wildlife Adventure Program combines Turtle Island, Sepilok and Labuk Bay in a great value package comprising simple, yet clean accommodation to maximize your wildlife experience without having to pay through the nose.
Day 1 (L/D)
Pick up from any hotel within Sandakan or Sandakan Airport at 08:00 before transferring to the jetty for a boat ride to Selingan Turtle Island Park.
The journey to the Island will take approximately 45 mins and upon arrival you will register at the Parks HQ and check into your chalet.
Enjoy lunch at the cafeteria around noon and then spend the rest of the afternoon at your leisure, enjoying the swimming or snorkeling facilities.
Following dinner the rangers will call you to observe turtles laying eggs and help with transferring the eggs to the hatchery.
You might also get the opportunity to observe the release of baby turtles back to the wild.
Overnight in your private chalets that features en-suite facilities, twin beds, air-conditioning and non-heated shower. The accommodation are basic, but clean.
Day 2 (B/L/D)
After an early start you’ll depart Turtle Island for Sandakan where you will have breakfast.
Next on the itinerary is the world renowned Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center, where you will come face to face with our closest relative, the orang utan.
The orang utans’ feeding time is at 10:00, after which you will explore the Orang Utan Exhibition centre and find out more about the orang utan’s plight.
Departing for the Sepilok Jungle Resort where you will enjoy lunch.
Later the afternoon you will go to Labuk Bay and the Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, which offers a proboscis monkey observation spot for those who want to get a little closer at these very unique primates.
Once you’ve quenched your thirst for all things monkey, you’ll head back to the Sepilok Jungle Resort where you’ll enjoy dinner, and stay overnight in a superior, air-conditioned room.
Day 3 (B/L/D)
Be the Early Bird the next morning, not to catch the worm, but to catch breakfast at 09:00 before your city tour.
Whilst on the Sandakan City tour you will visit Sandakan Memorial Park and Puh Jih Shih Buddist Temple on the side of a steep hill (and enjoy the magnificent view of Sandakan Bay at the same time), before moving on to the oldest church in Sabah.
Next, at the Central Market, you will experience the local buzz where the days fresh produce & seafood is being bought up by eager shoppers.
The highlight of the Sandakan City Tour is surely the Agnes Keith Museum all about life in the colonial days, followed by lunch at the English Tea House.
Sandakan explored, you will head back to the airport, where you will catch your flight back to Kota Kinabalu or Kuala Lumpur.
Remember to book any flights to depart after 2pm.
