Borneo Rainforest Lodge is built on the banks for the Danum river, hidden deep in Danum Valley where it provides basic and rustic, international standard accommodations.

Limited to a maximum of 60 people, Borneo Rainforest Lodge aims to deliver individual and unique jungle experiences.

The Rarest of the Borneo Rainforest

Danum Valley is renowned for its diverse plant and animal life making it the ideal location for a Borneo Safari.

Extremely rare and endangered species are known to roam the jungle.

Sumatran Rhino, Benten Elephant, Bornean Gibbon, Leaf Monkey and Clouded Leopard have all been spotted before.

Orang utans and proboscis monkeys, both found only in Borneo, also roam freely and are often seen in the wild jungle of Danum Valley.

The jungle around Borneo Rainforest Lodge is also an ornithologist’s paradise.

Over 275 species of bird have been recored here, contributing to Danum Valley’s reputation as being the best place for experiencing Borneo wildlife.

It is therefore no surprise that birdwatching is a popular activity at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge and have resident nature guides with in-depth knowledge.

Other activities to partake in whilst at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge include the ever popular canopy walkways.

Perched high above the jungle floor visitors have the opportunity to experience jungle life from the top down.

Jungle walks, including night walks, bring visitors closer to the sights and sounds for the jungle.

Don’t be fooled into thinking the jungle is quiet; it can be as noisy as busy city with the different critters trying to outdo each other for attention.

We offer a 3D2N and 4D3N stay at Borneo Rainforest Lodge. For the 3D2N package, exclude day 3 from the itinerary below.

Day 1

The Borneo Rainforest Lodge compound in Danum Valley

Arrive at the Lahad Datu airport at 07:55 and be met by your Borneo Rainforest Lodge rep who will take you for a registration and briefing before the 2 1/2 hour journey through Danum Valley to Borneo Rainforest Lodge.

Arrive, check-in and enjoy lunch at 12:00 at the lodge, before an afternoon trek at 15:00.

Experience the Nature Trails and the Canopy Walkway, 300m in length and 26m at the highest point to get up-close with the top of the rainforest.

Dinner is at 19:00 before an open-top vehicle drive at 20:30 for a Night Safari to search for the jungle’s nocturnal critters.

Overnight at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge.

Day 2

Enjoy an early bird breakfast at 07:00 to top up for the morning jungle trek at 09:00.

Trek to the Kadazandusun burial site at Coffin Cliff before proceeding to View Point for a bird’s eye view of the area.

Descend to Jacuzzi Pool for a refreshing dip in the Danum River.

Be back at the lodge in time for lunch at 12:00 and spend time at leisure preparing for the afternoon jungle trek at 15:00, or go for a relaxing session of tubing down the river.

Dinner as at 19:00 with a Night Walk at 20:30 for more night critter spotting.

Day 3

(Exclude from 3D2N)

Breakfast is at 07:00 again with the morning trek at 09:00.

This time visit Fairy Falls and Serpent Falls to experience more of the sights and sounds of the rainforest.

Lunch is at 12:30 with your choice of afternoon jungle trek or tubing at 15:00.

At 19:00 enjoy dinner, with another Night Walk on the cards to spot more of the jungle animals active at night.

Day 4

Breakfast is at 07:00, or spend the morning at leisure until lunch at 12:00.

At 13:30 check out and depart for the 2 1/2 journey to Lahad Datu airport.
