As a seasoned PADI Instructor, you have wisdom and experience to share with up-and-coming PADI leaders. And, you know that continuing your education never ends.

As an Instructor Development Course (IDC) Staff Instructor, you help bring up the next generation of PADI Instructors while gaining in-depth instructor-trainer knowledge.

The IDC Staff Instructor Course

PADI IDC Staff Instructors work with PADI Course Directors in a similar way to how PADI Divemasters / PADI Assistant Instructors work with Instructors and our dedicated Downbelow Go PRO Instructor Development Team will introduce, guide and teach you this senior level of diver education.

As a PADI IDC Staff Instructor, you are heavily involved in conducting, organizing and assisting the IDC and Instructor Specialty courses.

As a PADI IDC Staff Instructor you are involved in conducting, organizing and assisting the IDC and Instructor Specialty coursesUpon completion of this course you will also be qualified to independently teach the PADI Assistant Instructor courses as well as teach on the PADI Instructor Development Course.

Once you have successfully completed the PADI IDC Staff Instructor course you will then sit in on the entire PADI IDC where you will be expected to present PADI IDC presentations to the IDC candidates.

You will also be evaluating candidates knowledge, confined water and open water presentations and working with our instructional team to develop the PADI IDC candidates.

Requirements for certification include:

As a PADI IDC Staff Instructor candidate you are required to have your own PADI Course Director Manual along with the normal teaching materials for a PADI Instructor.

What will i Need to start?

  • Be a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer
  • Be at least 18 years old

  • Audit of the full IDC;
  • Confined & open water teaching slates;
  • 20 skill evaluation slate;
  • All diving fees & jetty fees;
  • Equipment rental (no reduction for own equipment);
  • Lunch & refreshment on diving days;

  • PADI Course Director Manual;
  • Staff IDC Application Fee: AUD 137.00 direct to PADI Asia Pacific (subject to change quarterly but current presently)
