Mount Kinabalu guides’ safety briefing is given before beginning ascent to the Laban Rata plateau.

As part of their safety briefing, the experienced guides cover: the trail from Timpohon Gate to the plateau at 3,272.7m altitude, the differences in environment, pit stops, drinking water, toilets, and general health and climbing pace too!

Our Expedition Borneo group D will be both climbing to the plateau, as well as participating in the basic via Ferrata ‘teaser’, so their mountain guides also inform them that they will be given advice on pace to reach the plateau in time for the safety equipment briefing.
