IDC in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah: The March Instructor Development Course (IDC) is currently in full swing at Downbelow.
Yesterday the group was hard at work in the classroom at Downbelow’s Dive Shop & Travel Centre in KK Times Square, and today they’re back at the PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre on Gaya Island for some practical work and to get wet.
We have four divers working towards becoming Open Water SCUBA Instructors on this March IDC.
Kiko joins us from Japan, Jan is all the way from Norway and our very own Downbelow divemasters and local boys, Wellson and Tim, are representing Sabah.
The IDC runs until the end of month, which is when the PADI Instructor Examiners will fly in from Sydney to test our IDC candidates’ knowledge.
Passing the Instructor Exam will qualify them as fully fledged PADI Open Water SCUBA Instructors.
The dates for our next Instructor Development Course has already been confirmed.
It will take place from 13 – 27 May 2011 here in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and the Instructor Exam will follow shortly after.
