Master Dive Instructor Richard conducting a CESA (Controlled Emergency Swimming Ascent) workshopSabah, Borneo: Our Instructor Development Course (IDC) candidates are already in the home stretch, studying fiercely for the exams which are now not too far off.

While there’s loads of theory to get their heads around, to be studied in a dry place somewhere, there’s also a substantial amount of coursework that requires them to get wet.

So last week our intrepid IDC candidates were at Downbelow’s PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre on Gaya Island doing just that.

Under the watchful eye of Master Dive Instructor Richard, the candidates took to the water for workshops and reaching the vital milestones in their instructor development.

We’re happy to say that so far it’s going, well, swimmingly.

If you follow us on Twitter, you would also have known, the minute our IDC candidates did, that they all effortlessly (or so it seemed from where I was standing) passed their EFR Instructor courses, which, of course, is a vital part of the IDC.

The constant attention from Downbelow’s GO Pro Team ensures that help is always at hand, making dealing with the coursework a snap.

Our next IDC is coming up in May, so if you’re on the path to becoming a diving instructor and would like to join the IDC, contact us today and let’s talk about what you need to Go Pro.
