At Downbelow’s 5 Star IDC Dive Centre we welcome everyone, divers and non-divers alike.
However sometimes we need a reminder that we ourselves are guests on this island. Our dive centre is located in the tropical rainforest of the island that is home to so much wildlife.
Among them is the beautiful Green Crested Lizard which made its presence known by joining our divers during the surface interval last weekend.
Downbelow Staff Instructor Paul Jones didn’t waste the opportunity to take pictures of an animal outside of the water for a change.
Spending a couple of trekking through the jungle on Gaya Island together with a member of our staff will enable you to explore the the virgin tropical rain-forest just next to our dive centre.
You can see wild orchids, endemic plants and wildlife and visit the “Spirit Forest” where all kind of weird and wonderful creatures can be found.
Learn of natural herbal remedies and medical plants that have been used for generations of native people. Trek along jungle trails in search of flora and fauna, some of which are rare and sought after.
