Kota Kinabalu, Sabah: It’s group season here in Kota Kinabalu, it seems, and we’re literally buzzing on the island.
So when a group of 50 people from Hong Kong came to us recently wanting to see Sabah’s marine life in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park (TAR Park) last weekend, we jumped at the opportunity to provide them Downbelow’s 5 star service and hospitality.
It all starts with our door-to-door service, which is included with our island programs, not just for groups, but for individuals too.
Our very own road fleet of 3 vans bring our guests from their Kota Kinabalu hotels to the Sutera Harbour Marina jetty.
Here they move onto 1 of our 3 fast, custom-made dive boats and are whisked away for a 10 minute boat ride to Gaya island in the nearby TAR Park.
And so it was with our Hong Kong corporate group as well, and in next-to-no-time, the group was getting comfortable at our recently expanded Beach House dive centre, enjoying the views of the TAR Park and Kota Kinabalu city.
The group from Hong Kong enjoyed a day of guided snorkeling, in 2 locations in the TAR Park.
Our island crew, the well trained, very professional bunch that they are, ensured our group was always safe, comfortable and, most importantly, having loads of fun.
Back at the Beach House, they tucked into the buffet lunch we laid out for them.
Over the recent months we’ve paid close attention to the feedback from our guests and have greatly improved our lunch menu, which now receives a consistent thumbs-up from our visitors.
A work in progress, we always strive to meet expectations – we know better than anyone that diving and snorkeling is hungry work!
