climb mt kinabalu borneo

Downbelow Operations Manager Strike captures the incredible view of the mighty Mt Kinabalu on his handphone while on the way to work.

Even though located more than 90km from the city of Kota Kinabalu, the awesomeness of the mountain is there for all to see.

In case you are not familiar with Mt Kinabalu, it is actually the highest peak in South East Asia between the Himalayas and Irian Jaya at the height of 4,095m. It is the highest in Malaysia and the Roof of Borneo.

It’s the undisputed jewel in the crown of the Kinabalu National Park, a protected area spanning 753.7 km2 and Malaysia’s first World Heritage Site designated by UNESCO in December 2000.

Climbing the mountain can be done on a 2 days 1 night trip and thousands have summited it every year, though advanced booking is required.

You can make a reservation to climb Mt Kinabalu via Downbelow. Read more about Mt Kinabalu and our package.
