As PADI Open Water instructors, one of the skills they need to teach their students is how to handle even the most unlikely emergency situation for example low on air scenarios while underwater.
This is when the Controlled Emergency Swimming Ascent or CESA, is carried out to ensure divers ascend safely.
Last weekend, our current group of PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) candidates completed the CESA workshop with resident PADI Platinum Course Director Richard Swann and Downbelow IDC Staff Instructor Paul Jones at our PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre, Borneo.
CESA is something every PADI Open Water diver will learn, but with proper scuba diving practices never need to use.
Good job to the team for a successful workshop!
