For the past few weeks this summer, 330+ Camps International adventurers’ from the UK have visited our Gaya Island beach house to experience the various activities we offer and learn about the natural biodiversity of our tropical paradise!
Now we have the final wave of enthusiastic adventurers’ camping at our Dive Centre and learning to dive on the PADI Open Water Diver course. For those who are looking to qualify it will take the usual 3-4 days to complete. For anyone who certified elsewhere before, they can continue their dive education to achieve the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver.
We will also be conducting non-diving activities (snorkeling, kayaking, jungle trekking) for those of the adventure group who would like to enjoy paradise in other ways.
Not only are these activities fun, but also knowledge of the natural environment is learnt and the students might not realize they’re learning because the practical-based nature of their education is non-traditional. One of our experienced PADI Instructors will deliver a presentation on Coral Reef Conservation and they will integrate their own experiences so the students can relate to the information. They will be invited to get involved in a beach clean project our island staff team organizes before they depart, so their newfound knowledge supports a perspective of environmental care!
