Borneo’s Flora attracts naturalists and botanists from around the world. The fascinating island of Borneo is home to an exceptional diverse variety of indigenous plant life.
The pride of Sabah and Borneo are plants the likes of the Nepenthes Pitcher Plants, of which Kinabalu National park is the home to the smallest and largest varieties.
The smallest Banana Plant and smallest Orchid in the world also grows here, as well as the world largest bloom, the Rafflesia, which can grow up to and beyond 1m across and, in order to attract insects – mostly flies – for pollinating purposes, imitates rotting flesh in both appearance and smell.
